MEELIUM®

The Chemical Deodorant

ODOR TEST NO. 5 (CHICKEN INTESTINES)

Before Deodorizing: The intestines of chickens were exposed to the high afternoon sun for 3 1/2 hours, then placed in the test chamber until the air was obnoxious with the foul odor. The source of the odor was then removed.

After Deodorizing: The foul chicken odor was completely destroyed.

ODOR TEST NO. 6 (LIMBURGER CHEESE)

Before Deodorizing: A cream style limburger cheese was placed in a small box and kept warm for 3 1/2 hours. This box was then placed in the test chamber until the air of the room virtually reeked limburger cheese odor. The source of the odor was then removed.

After Deodorizing: The odor of the cheese was completely destroyed.

CONCLUSIONS

With the source of the odor removed. MEELIUM effectively destroyed the offensive odors of cigar smoke, boiled cabbage, fried onions, decaying fish, decaying chicken intestines and limburger cheese.

In these particular deodorization tests, one part by volume of MEELIUM effectively neutralized ten (10) million parts of air that contained extremely offensive odors.

CHARACTERISTICS

MEELIUM as supplied and diluted as recommended is non-corrosive and has been merchandised in both tinplate, and phenolic lined cans. Valves with buna gaskets are suggested in general. Weight losses have been in the order of 0.1 to 0.2 av. oz. per year depending upon the formula and dispenser.

MEELIUM concentrate is essentially odorless, and in the recommended diluted form it could be marketed without the addition of perfume oils. However, in the non-scented state, consumer appeal may be limited, but with the addition of small amounts of perfume oils, consumer appeal is greatly enhanced. Because of the low odor characteristic of MEELIUM,very delicate and appealing perfume oils may be used. When desired, the addition of from 0.1% to 0.5% perfume oil is recommended.

MEELIUM 60% Concentrate is completely compatible with all base oils, including the various aliphatics and mineral oils.

MEELIUM is the only chemical of its kind possessing true deodorizing qualities. It is chemically stable and will not separate, deteriorate, or decompose at high or low temperatures. Being a true deodorant MEELIUM is not compatible with a number of perfume ingredients, particularly the terpenes and similar unsaturated aromatics. There are many perfume houses that are completely familiar with MEELIUM and are in a position to recommend compatible perfume oils.

MEELIUM 60% CONCENTRATE can be cut back to any recommended concentration with base oil.

Suggested Use Directions for Aerosols Containing Meelium - Direct aerosol mist toward ceiling, allowing approximately 3 to 5 seconds spraying time for the average size room. Repeat when necessary. When odors are localized, direct spray mist toward the source. Hold dispenser at least three feet away from the surface to avoid possible staining. Avoid over spraying and waste.

Note: Adequate caution or warning statements for aerosols should be included.
